On Wednesday, February 10, 2010, the American Psychiatric Association released the proposed draft diagnostic criteria for the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5).The proposed diagnostic criteria will be available for public comment until April 20, and will be reviewed and refined over the next two years. According to the current schedule, DSM-5 will be released in May of 2013.

On a completely trivial point, it appears from their website, press releases and other publications, the American Psychiatric Association is abandoning the Roman Numeral system in going from DSM-IV to DSM-5.
